First Ever Tournament Series at Carbon Poker
US poker players, who miss out on the popular online tournaments like World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), would soon be able to enjoy poker in tournament format. Carbon Poker has announced that it would be hosting its first poker tournament series in the month of March 2012. The event, which would be known as Poker Maximus, will take off on the 4th of March and will end on the 25th.
Carbon Poker, which is one of the few sites accepting players from the USA, will be allowing players to take part in the competition through its special satellite tournaments or through their existing tournament entry tickets. Players of Carbon Poker, as well as other Merge Gaming Network sites like Lock Poker, Hero Poker etc will get to participate in the Poker Maximus series.
Tournament Schedule
The special satellite tournaments for Poker Maximus had started in the month of January and will continue till completion. Players having the Carbon Poker tournament entry coupons can use them to play these qualifier tournaments, which include a variety of Sit n Go games and Multi-table tournaments, for the series.
The series starting on March 4 consists of 70 events, including 4 Main Events that take place on the last day of the series. A selection of three tournaments will take place on any given day during the series, which spans three weeks. The events include a variety of Holdem and Omaha tournaments and the buy-ins range from as low as $1.10 to as high as $530.
The series will also feature special events like Tournament of the Champions and a Players Choice tournament.
Main Event
The four main events that take place on the 25th of March include –
- The $109 Poker Maximus, which has a guaranteed prize of $200,000, with at least $50,000 to the first place winner; the starting chip stack for this event is 7500
- The $530 Superstack Nlh, with a guaranteed prize of $200,000 and starting chip stack of 10000
- $85,000 guaranteed $215 Maximus Highroller, with a starting chip stack of 10000
- The $11 Mini Main Event with a starting chip stack of 5000 and guaranteed prizes worth $10,000.
Rewards
Carbon Poker will be giving away prizes worth around $1.5 million during the Poker Maximus tournament. Prizes would also be awarded to the Champion of the tournament’s leaderboard, and the winner of the special event called Tournament of the Champions.
